Carrabiitol® was evaluated in a commercial pistachio orchard in Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran, where trees were simultaneously affected by soil salinity and hail damage. The orchard was irrigated with saline water, and visible symptoms of salt stress and hail injury were present before treatment.
Field Evaluation
Crop: Pistachio
Variety: White Almond Pistachio of Faizabad
Location: Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran
Stress Conditions: Salinity + Hail
Application: Foliar spray
Carrabiitol® Rate: 1.5 L per 1,000 L water
Comparison: Untreated control and commercial anti-stress treatment
Key Observations
Carrabiitol-treated trees showed a visibly improved response following application, with better tree greenness, fruit retention and cluster development compared with the untreated control.
Improved Tree Appearance
Treated trees maintained better greenness and overall visual condition.
Better Fruit Retention
A greater proportion of developing fruits remained on the trees following stress.
Improved Cluster Development
Carrabiitol®-treated clusters appeared fuller and showed better fruit development.
Earlier Kernel Formation
Kernel development was observed earlier in Carrabiitol®-treated pistachios compared with the control.

Supporting Resilience Under Saline Conditions
Following subsequent irrigation with the orchard’s usual saline water, Carrabiitol-treated trees maintained a comparatively good appearance, with fewer visible salinity symptoms reported than in untreated trees. The trial concluded that Carrabiitol® showed potential to support pistachio trees exposed to combined abiotic stress conditions.
