Carrabiitol® | Gherkin

Carrabiitol® was evaluated over two growing seasons to determine its potential to alleviate the effects of high temperature, water deficit and salinity stress in gherkin. The study assessed plant growth, physiological response, fruit development, yield and quality parameters.

Multi-Stress Evaluation

Crop: Gherkin
Stress Conditions: High Temperature | Water Deficit | Salinity
Application: Foliar spray at vegetative, pre-flowering and fruit-set stages
Rates Evaluated: 3 and 4 mL/L
Study Duration: Three Seasons
Experimental Design: Randomized Block Design (RBD)

Locations : ICAR-IIHR, Bangalore & CSKHPKV, Himachal Pradesh.

Key Agronomic Response

Carrabiitol improved several important crop-performance parameters under abiotic stress, including chlorophyll content, dry matter accumulation, fruit number, average fruit weight and fruit yield per plant.

22–51%

Higher fruit yield per plant was observed with Carrabiitol® at 3 mL/L across the evaluated stress treatments and two seasons.

12–40%

Increase in the number of fruits per plant was reported with Carrabiitol® at 4 mL/L compared with the corresponding stressed control.

9–15%

Increase in average fruit weight was observed at 4 mL/L under water-deficit and salinity stress.

Strengthening Crop Performance Under Stress

The two-season evaluation demonstrates Carrabiitol®’s potential to help maintain physiological performance, fruit development and productivity when gherkin plants are exposed to different abiotic stresses.
