4 ABIOTIC STRESSES
12+ PHYSIOLOGICAL & BIOCHEMICAL PARAMETERS
Carrabiitol®, a novel oligosaccharide polyol composition, was evaluated in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L. cv. Arka Rakshak) for its ability to mitigate the adverse effects of four major abiotic stresses: flooding, drought, salinity and high temperature.
The study demonstrated that Carrabiitol® treatments helped stressed tomato plants maintain key growth, physiological and biochemical functions, supporting improved plant resilience under challenging environmental conditions.

How Carrabiitol® Supports Stress Resilience
Improved Plant Water Relations
Carrabiitol® treatments influenced plant water-related physiological parameters, helping stressed plants maintain physiological function.
Enhanced Osmoprotection
Higher accumulation of proline, an important endogenous osmolyte, was observed in Carrabiitol®-treated plants under stress conditions, supporting osmotic adjustment and cellular protection.
Antioxidant Defence
The study evaluated antioxidant activity and oxidative-stress indicators, providing evidence that Carrabiitol® influences biochemical responses involved in protecting plants against stress-associated oxidative damage.
Photosynthetic Support
Carrabiitol® treatments influenced chlorophyll and carotenoid content, supporting the photosynthetic system during exposure to environmental stress.
